Biography

Laura-Liis Juursalu is Estonia’s first certified para triathlete and a great role model for others. She was born without left palm of the hand, but this has not prevented her from being a successful athlete as an adult. She has won the second and third places in the Estonian Triathlon Cup series in her age group before she began her journey towards Paralympics in Paris. In addition, she has completed two half Ironman races – Ironman 70.3 Emilia Romagna & Ironman 70.3 Tallinn. Her best time was 5:48.49.
3rd place in Tallinn Ironman 70.3 European Championship relay in 2023.

In her childhood, Laura-Liis did a lot of singing, although she could often be found in swimming pool, on a bike, on skis or on roller skates. Her favorite and strongest field is cycling, but she often competes in Estonian running and skiing competitions as well. In May 2023, she did her first international competition in paratriathlon. At the European Championship held in Madrid, she took 8th place in the PTS5 class.
