2025 Supertri E World Triathlon Championships hit London

Hot on the heels of the T1 Lievin World Cup , there is more fast and furious indoor triathlon action this weekend as the London Aquatics Centre welcomes the hybrid world of virtual and real racing that is the supertri E World Triathlon Championships powered by MyWhoosh!

Last year's E Triathlon World Champions Beth Potter and Chase McQueen return to defend their titles, Olympic Champion Cassandre Beaugrand will want redemption for the defeat last year, and Jonathan Brownlee and Hugo Milner will be among the British men getting the home crowds fired up on Saturday afternoon. Watch on TriathlonLive from 5.30pm local time.

An intense morning of qualifiers will boil the field down to the 10 men and 10 women heading into their respective finals. From there, it's a three-stage battle royale for the medals - 200m swim, 4km bike, 1km run.

Setting the pace in the water once again will be USA's Chase McQueen, the man who dominated 12 months ago and has one of the smoothest swim strokes in the business.

Taking a 10 second lead into the pursuit-start final stage last year gave the American all the room he needed to take the win, while Potter and Beaugrand's head-to-head went right down to the wire, the pair hitting the treadmill in unison for the last time before the Brit pulled clear over the closing stages to take the win and raise the roof.

Since then, of course, Beaugrand has become absolutely untouchable with wins at WTCS Cagliari and WTCS Hamburg ahead of those career-defining victories at Paris 2024 and the Torremolinos Championship Finals. The rivalry will be reignited poolside in London and should make for another incredible show between the two great competitors.

Another French star will want to make his mark on his E Triathlon debut, the 2023 World Champion Dorian Coninx getting his year underway in unfamiliar territory. His 2024 challenge was derailed in a bike crash in Yokohama and another world title of a different kind would be just the start to his season he needs.

Germany's rising star Henry Graf will have plenty to say, and in a format he does know well after fifth place last year. Graf smashed the Lievin field to take gold and looks like one of the in-form names early on in the season, not to mention an exciting prospect for LA 2028 as he gets better with every race.

British trio Jonathan Brownlee, Hugo Milner and Jack Willis will certainly have the crowds behind them, Brownlee the consummate all-rounder with a huge tally of medals to his name, Milner one of the fastest men in triathlon today over the run.

Expect Ireland's James Edgar and young Italian talent Euan de Nigro to make it through to the finals, Maxime Hueber Mossbrugger of France also an experienced name in the format who will have his sights set on a podium finish.

Ready to push Potter and Beaugrand all the way to the women's title will be Jolien Vermeylen. Brilliant in the water, the Belgian looked so good in Lievin before her challenge came unstuck in transition and battling back to earn fourth place.

British duo Sian Rainsley and Jessica Fullagar will know they can produce the goods at this level, if not necessarily over this format, having both secured first World Cup podiums in 2024.

Zuzana Michalickova will likely be setting the pace in the pool just as she did in Lievin, and last year's U23 World Championship silver medallist will want to banish the memory of a tough time here back in 2023 by showing just how far she has come since then.
