100 days to go to Science & Tri Conference
Today marks just 100 days to go until the 2015 Science & Triathlon Conference. The two-day conference will run on 26-27 November, 2015 in Paris, “the City of Light”, offering participants the chance to explore an iconic city while also learning from the world’s top coaches and sports scientists.
The theme of the 2015 conference is ‘Peaking for Rio, preparing for Tokyo…and beyond’, and represents the scientific lessons that triathlon coaches have applied through the years leading up to the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. It will then look at how this research can now be applied to designing the champions of the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.
The line-up of speakers includes world-class coaches Joel Filliol, Sergio Santos, Darren Smith and Jamie Turner along with many other recognized scientists and experts, such as ITU Medical Delegate Chair Sergio Migliorini, sport scientists Dr. Christophe Hausswirth and Dr. Yann Le Meur, as well as renowned physiologists Iñigo Mujika and Paul Laursen.
Topics of the conference include strength training, training load management, nutrition, organisation for high level performance, paratriathlon and training in extreme conditions.
This conference will be hosted at INSEP (National Institut of Sports) in the heart of Vincennes’s Wood, city of Paris. Many of the French Olympic medallists trained there as Judokas Teddy Riner and David Douillet, as well as basketball stars like Tony Parker and Boris Diaw.
In addition to the conference, participants will be treated to a dinner gala that will be hosted on a boat on the Seine River.
