Israeli & Japanese Athletes Win ITU Subic Bay

Ran Alterman from Israel and Rika Takahashi from Japan have taken out the 11th running of ITU Subic Bay International Triathlon held in the Philippines.
In hot humid conditions, Ran finished in 2 hours and 4 seconds, 1 1/2 minutes ahead of Ben Pulham from New Zealand who caught race winner Ran’s brother Dan just 50 metres from the finish line to prevent an Israeli 1-2 finish.
In the Womens event Takahashi completely dominated the race leading from start to finish to win in 2 hours 16 minutes 51 seconds. Kavya Murthy from India, scored her country’s first ever placing in an ITU Elite event finishing in 2nd place with 3rd place going to local girl Alessandra Araullo.
